This is the initial step in obtaining your trade license, allowing you to define your legal structure, economic activities, and business partners. You can complete this step either before or after reserving your trade name.
Purpose of this request:
- Securing a commercial lease agreement.
- Obtaining necessary approvals from relevant authorities for economic activities requiring external clearance (e.g., Health Authority, Roads and Transport Authority, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, etc.).
Documents required
You will need the following to make a request for initial approval:
- Copy of the licensee's passport/ ID
- Copy of the applicant’s residence permit/ visa (for non- GCC nationals)
- The company's articles of association
- Feasibility study of the project
- The parent company's board resolution to open a branch in Dubai
- Letter of authorization of the managing director
- Copy of the parent company's commercial registration certificate
- Copy of the parent company's memorandum of association (MOA)
- Copy of the parent company's license
Fees
The total cost for obtaining the initial approval is AED 120.
Payment Methods:
- Direct Debit: Available through Dubai Islamic Bank, Commercial Bank of Dubai, and Emirates Islamic.
- Cash or Cheque: Payments can be made at Aafaq Islamic Finance, Commercial Bank of Dubai, or Emirates Islamic.
